About Us - Overview
Calistoga Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is currently developing multiple compounds selectively targeting the phosphoinositide-3 kinase (PI3K) pathway, a pathway known to be involved in certain cancers and inflammatory diseases. Our approach is to selectively inhibit the delta isoform of the PI3K, a isoform that is expressed in cells of hematopoietic origin. Our initial clinical indications are hematological malignancies and asthma and rheumatoid arthritis. Additionally we are exploring other B-cell diseases which are particularly sensitive to PI3K-delta inhibitors. Our technology assets include broad intellectual property in the delta isoform of PI3K and small molecule inhibitors that selectively target that isoform, as well as a robust pipeline of drug candidates. A Phase 1 trial of CAL-101, an orally available, small molecule inhibitor for inflammatory disease and cancer, is currently underway.
